Archive TV is directly inspired from my real life experience as part of the National Archives’ Criminal Petitions Project, a fascinating opportunity to read and handle original archive material, which powerfully connects to the voices of past lives with all their instantly recognisable feelings of hope, despair and tragedy. I am also proud to bring to Archive TV illuminating insights into criminal history from a contemporary perspective, being a criminal barrister since 1994, in chambers at 1 Pump Court, Temple. My television and film experience spans seven years in hair, make-up and special effects departments. I was Hair and Make-up Designer on Channel 4 drama-doc Krakatoa and award winning Brit indie feature Saxon, and was part of the hair and make-up teams on BBC 2 drama-doc Nuclear Secrets : Vanunu and The Bomb, and features Elizabeth The Golden Age and The Young Victoria. With my further passion for family and local history, and the promotion of innovative social and historical education in schools, Archive TV promises to be an exciting, inspiring and far-reaching television and multi-media phenomenon.
Team
Archive TV was created out of two key desires:
- First, as a way to draw together a whole range of talents we have been working alongside as freelancers.
- Second, as a way to get to the heart of the drama when telling stories of real people and their brushes with the law in the past.
